A leading and prominent Civil Lawyer of the city of Agra, who has
specialized in matters against the Electricity Department, Financial
Institutions & Banks, Insurance Companies along with insurance claims, and
Consumer Litigation with further specialization in matters pertaining to Medico
Legal cases and Negotiable Instrument Act and family matters. Anurag Gupta has a
rich family background. His father Prof. (Dr.) M.C. Gupta was an eminent
teacher, Sr. Cardiologist and Physician as well as Recipient of several National
and International Awards. The wife of Anurag Gupta, Advocate, Dr. (Smt.) Nidhi
Gupta, is a Gynaecologist and is currently posted in Department of Gynaecology,
S.N. Medical College & Hospital, Agra as Professor. The mother of Anurag Gupta
was a pious and holy lady. Anurag Gupta is blessed with two children one Son –
Abhishek, who is running his own business, and one Daughter – Dr. Akrishti, who
is currently perusing her M.S. in Obs. & Gyn. Anurag Gupta besides being a
lawyer is deeply involved in community service. He is actively involved in
providing free legal aid to the poor and needy people.
He was the Chairman of U.N. Committee for Eradication of Polio under the
banner of Lion’s Club of Agra Greater 2000-2001. He gave lectures on drug abuse and
prevention, at Lion’s Club District Assembly and Conferences. He is the member of the
Organizing Committee of Lion’s Club and is in the Board of Directors of Lion’s Club of
Agra Mahan Agra, U.P., India, for last several years. He has assisted in organizing
health check-up and Immunization camps every month as well as in organizing Polio
Awareness and Eradication Campaign in Agra. He is actively involved in organizing Youth
Activities for Schools of Agra as Quiz, Debates, Painting contest, Dance & Music.
Anurag Gupta besides being deeply involved in community service has an
hobby of writing books and delivering lectures. He has been Selected as member of group
exchange programme of Rotary International, and represented India, in Indiana, USA in
1990 Represented the National Chamber of Commerce & Industries of Bangkok in 2000-2003.
His book published by J.P. Brothers titled as “IN DEFENCE OF DOCTORS” & “HOW TO MINIMIZE
LITIGATION” has gained a lot of popularity. He is a great orator and has been an active
panelist in Panel discussion on doctors and the law at Agra under auspices of National
Medical Organization, Agra on 12.05.2005. He has delivered lectures in various
organizations like Lion’s Club, National Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Bharat Vikas
Parishad, Rotary Club, Agra Orthopaedic Society, Agra Urology Club & Indian Medical
Association, Agra. He delivered lecture in 5th Annual Conference of South Asian
Federation of Obs. & Gyn. held at Kathmandu, Nepal 2 – 6th June, 2005 on the topic
“medico legal problems – in defence of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists”. Presented
papers in the Annual Conference of Federation of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, held in
Kochin, India from January 6th to January 10, 2006 titled as “Methods to avoid
Litigation and in Defence of Doctors”. His contribution of a chapter in “Manual of
Operative Obstetrics & Gynaeocology” on Doctors & Legal complications has earned him a
lot of appreciation. He has presented guest lectures at Lucknow, Delhi, Firozabad,
Aligarh, Etah on Consumer Protection Act and on topic “Defence of Doctors”.
Anurag Gupta is on this Legal Profession from the year 1988 and is
enrolled as an advocate with Bar Council, Allahabad, U.P., India.
